BOOT RANCH

This beautiful 725.54 acre ranch is located six miles east of Langtry, Tx. in western Val Verde County. The ranch fronts on Highway 90 and has over 1.6 miles of frontage along the Amistad National Recreation Area (Rio Grande River).

Langtry is on Loop 25 off U.S. Highway 90 just north of the Rio Grande and eight miles west of the Pecos River near the southwestern corner of Val Verde County. In 1882 the Southern Pacific line established a grading camp near the Eagle Nest crossing of the Rio Grande to facilitate joining with the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway at the site of Langtry. The 1882 rail road went through the Boot Ranch and the old railroad bed and numerous campsites, rock ovens and corrals can be found on the ranch.

The Trans Pecos area was originally inhabited by primitive Indians 3-4,000 years ago. Their presence can still be found in the numerous caves and burnt rock middens found along the Rio Grande River and deep canyons on the ranch. These caves were also used by the railroad crews to store black powder for the blasting of the railroad bed in the 1800's.

Plat of Ranch

The price for the ranch is $1,000/acre. Owner would consider dividing. For more information call toll free 866-286-0199. Scroll down for more pictures of the ranch.
